What would you do if you were me?

as long as the box is built to the specs you asked for it is your fault for not measuring correctly

good job making this thread, if you file a claim against him for something you screwed up you are the scammer and chances are you wont be buying or selling here much after your rep goes to shit

good luck with that

Lol ok guy. Thanks. I don't agree, nor do a lot of others. I was an amateur taking measurements. The expert should have asked for those extra measurements IMHO
remember.....MEASURE.....if it sounds ok MEASURE AGAIN.....if you get the same measurements MEASURE ONE MORE TIME!......if you get the same measurements again MEASURE EVERYTHING ONE MORE TIME!

BTW did u see if u could possibly slide the box in through the front of the car into your trunk via folding seats? or taking seats out?

If you buy a new fridge, they're gonna bring it & if it doesn't fit it's gonna be your deal to fix, trade it back in for another one, whatever, it's gonna cost you. A reputable place will work with you to keep their reputation, but it's still probably gonna cost you some.

im sorry but if your complaining because he built a box to ur measurments thats crazy. He built u a very nice box (saw ur fs thread) sell that for some money back and try again with your new knowledge.... we learn from our mistakes imo this ones on you.

x1billion.

You gave him specs. Why would he question your specs? If i were the builder i would be angry with you for giving me measurments that didnt fit. I think you should appologize for being ignorant and this time pay him double...... Actually i think you should get a prefab box.

yeah, i gotta say your fault here man. getting it into the trunk should of been your worry not his. id say chalk it up to inexperience, sell the box for what you can get, and try again with a lesson learned.

i think its very nice of him to agree to build a new one for you upon sale of the one that dont fit. from what i have gathered, its your fault it doesnt fit. the box fits within the measurments you provided. you should know your height and width can not be larger than the opening of the trunk. thats common sence there, the tricky one is the depth how deep can it be for the box to make the turn at the bottom of the trunk? these measurements are your responsibility. the actual inside of the trunk size is not nearly as much of a factor as the trunk opening. the box height is about the only factor you have to pay attention to for the actual trunk. watch for things hanging from the back speaker deck etc. most times if it fits into the opening of the trunk it will fit in the trunk itself.

We got it taken care of.
consider yourself very lucky if he did anything at all for you. i see your side of it but you are not right simple as that. if it was me i would have asked if you made sure BUT that does not mean he should have. glad it is all set now though.

BTW about your comment about no locals. there are TONS of locals in this area. many of which is pros and can build great boxes. your in one of the best places for car audio
