HDF should be great. MDF would be ok too as long as you're using a lot of glue. High quality wood would be superb but isn't necessary if constructed properly.

what are the specs on it. That;s gonna be a huge box too. And HEAVY 2" MDF would be rediculous, anything past that, hell I can't even imagine seeing as I've never even seen/dealt with anything nearly this big.

13 ply birch would be my top pick. MDF would be fine too, just ridiculously heavy!

Ya I hate mdf. Its not even cheap at my local stores.

birch....for something that big it would help with weight...mdf would weigh a ton!
