Thats right bishes...
ull need a wiring harness made for the year of your car

u can find em on ebay or at a local audio shop

another handy thing to have are butt connectors for connecting the wires, but you can just use electrical tape //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

sweet, so just check on ebay for them? Do i need a specific one for alpine, or are they universal? Also, already have the butt connectors, and i also plan on going over them with electical tape.

What do you mean by "regular". What level trim is your explorer. For 98% of people, the answers people have already given are right. You can go to http://www.cardomain.com and put in your vehicle in the fit guide and then look for your dash and wiring kit and it should give you the right one, if you don't have an upgraded radio.

XLT, its the basic cd player that came with the 3rd gens, single disc with tape deck. Not 6-in-dash and no subwoofer. (but im fixing that problem...)

what else you need to know?

get a wiring harness for your expo and dash kit.

use your butt connectors to hook up the harness to all the wires then hook it up
