Mine was a 8" swiss audio DVC sub put in my std cab 1991 s10 in a sealed enclosure built with 1/2" particle board sealed with liquid nails and put together with a nail gun. I used some old pioneer HU and a 150 watt 2 channel lightning audio amp. Oh yeah I was bumpin! What was yours and post pics if you can. I love seeing systems from people that are jus starting

in 1989 a targa 4x400w power booster on 4 6x9's jvc tape deck then i bought a aiwa (was great back then) tape deck on a ppi 150x2 amp with mtx terminator 12's then i bought a pioneer premier tape deck with remote 6 disc changer 4 ppi amps 4 jl audio w4 subs with 23 other speakers all going at the same time (mb quart and rf) in a 84 1/2 escort mention this all together because it was all within 18 months i did this lol and the rear end actually needed air bags lol because the tires rubbed the wheel wells

CLARION head unit..sounded great.

mine was 2 kicker c12a's (fricken old but good). a rf punch 200ix, pioneer hu, alpine type r 6x9's and rf 4's in the front. simple, but effective.

I had a 1600 watt SPL amp (you know, cause naming something SPL will give you SPL, duh) a royal red pyramid sub, a sony CDX-m610 cdplayer. That lasted a few days being the pyramid blew. Then i got two audiobahn natural 15's.

Needless to say I've come far.

They didn't have amps for cars when I first got into car audio. 8 track players and Jensen 6X9's were king.

I know about those M&M Godfathers...........................My first sytem in 1995 was 8 JL 10's, 2 sets of JL 6.5 comps with custom X-overs, Clarion 5780 HU, Crystal Line line driver, Clarion EQ, PPI pre-amp, Pro-Mos 450 and Pro-Mos 50, and an AudioControl X-over. All this in the back of an 89' Ranger ext. cab....man do I miss it and wish I still had it.
