Radio shack has has decent stuff. My buddy from highschool used to get discounts because his dad worked there in managment.

I had those surface mounted 3-way with 4 inch wooffer, 3 inch mid and tweet. I had the eq's and a couple replacement subs. Not bad. I know I had more but did not inventory...

Becker pull out tape deck, Cerwin vega 12" home 3 ways in the back seat, Realistic 6" x 9"'s in the back, and a realistic 4" x 10" in the dash. All powered by a Kraco 25w x 4 power booster with a lovely built in 3 band eq. Dat chit was banging yo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Infinity Kappa 60.7cs

Infinity Kappa 693.7

Infinity Reference 475a amp

later replaced by

RF Power 1000 25 to Life

added 13tw5

pair of Rockford Fosgate Punch 12s

1 Rockford Fosgate Punch 40ix for the subs

1 Rockford Fosgate Punch 40 for the mids

an MB Quart component set for the front

Kenwood deck

mind you this was back in 1994 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

1996 Ford Escort

stock head unit (cassette) and door speakers

Rockford Fosgate Punch 40 (old school black and red square one)

(2) Rockford Fosgate Series 1 12s in a sealed box, no carpet

It actually hit really hard, which was all I wanted at the time. Looking back, I'm sure it sounded like garbage.

lol I remember the first system I ever saw, my buddy had 2 sony Xplods and a sony amp...he thought it was the loudest system ever...I thought it was cool too but that's because I had never seen anything else :p

My first system was an alpine HU, Lanzar Vibe amp (was actually a great little budget amp) and 2 JLW3v2's in a sealed prefab. Sounded decent, but once I moved to the type R's with a 1200 watt kicker amp in a ported box, there was no turning back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

2 Kicker comp 10s off of a Bazooka BA1500 straight off of the Circuit City Display Board all in a prefab box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my first 4 or 5 systems had no CD player because they had not been invented for cars yet. I had one of the first models of CD players available for the car.
