What type of speakers would be best for this amp?

I'm planning on purchasing this amp. Rockford Fosgate R300-4 (r3004) - 4-Channel Amplifiers - Sonic Electronix how many watts should i get looking for speakers? I was looking at 100 watt component rockfords. would those be good for this amp?

RF has been known to be underrated, however, the prime line is right about rated...So with that said, get something close to the amps rating

I was told to look somewhere around the 150 watt range, but I was thinking that'd be too high. Would a 100 watt speaker be distorted?

Wattage is not what you should look for as hardly any mids should be given their rated wattage. Rockford mids are not known for their crystal clear mids or smooth highs. To each their own, but if you're going by power handling and nothing else you're wasting your money.

If you are looking at components, you might be able to find some fair priced cadence or PG..

So yeah, I honestly don't know anything about speakers besides watts. I plan on getting a sub, so I won't need the lows right? But anyway what should I look for in the speaker then? I just want to be able to crank the volume up before I save for the subs and not hear any distortion.
