fyi tommy, potato gun wont work unless its filled with rocks, and when it does break, it is a vaccume inside and it will explode and shoot shards of glass quite a ways.
i had to throw a 30lb cinder block on a 21" crt screen for it to blow up, and the cinder block flew up and landed like 3 feet away. (threw it down on it in a trash can). it takes quite a bit to blow them up, the glass is like 2" thick or more.

throw it off a building and run away.

Plus it's pretty long range so I don't have to be standing close.

There should be places that recycle it for free. I was in a electronic recycler site the other day and they said they would pay shipping to get it to their facility. Im in the same predicament I have a pretty nice flat sreen crt monitor im going to get rid of, either to someone I know or ill let them recycle it http://costcotrades.greensight.com/Common/equiptypes.aspx?SiteXfrMsg=1

I couldn't find any places within a reasonable driving distance to recycle it for free.
