What the hell is this and how do I hook it up to my sub?

Backstory:

04 Acura TL, just bought it.

Wired for sound, guessing there is an LOC somewhere?

In the picture, you will see a ground, power, remote, another flat (not round) black wire and these four wires I'm baffled by. They're color coded. I believe two are gray, one white, one white with a black stripe. The person who had them before had all the mini wires wrapped up into one. +, -?

If I don't get an answer soon, I'm going to shove all those wires into the positive side of my sub, and the black one into the neg.

I would have to say they are the pos. and neg. comming from some kind of power supply... Maybe your hu or maybe an amp... that would explain the color codes... just my 2

No. The power, ground and remote are for an aftermarket amp. I however am using the stock HU.

That's my guess too. Which one is pos, which one is neg? The 4 wires would probs be pos, right? Should I wire them all together and shove them in my sub? lol. Ive never heard of anything like that, thats why Im hesitant.

It's got an ELS 5.1 system.

They're all taped up in the same pseudo-grommet. I can cut the tape and see where it all goes, if necessary. But would prefer to get an idea of what I'm looking for first.

And it is in the trunk, yes.

I know in the wife's RSX there is the powered subwoofer in the trunk. I am at work at the moment and can't look at it but there is a possibility the wires went to that sub in yours as a stock option....

kinda looks like an RCA cable with the ends chopped off.

how ever I would never use or trust wires like that and pull em out and rewire myself.

The stock sub is still intact and working. What is going on here?

Go to an Acura forum. Those guys should know more there, unless there's anyone on here that is familiar with that ELS wiring system.
