OMG!! Read more before you ask somthing like that....the hk4000 is cheaper, but its less effiecent draws more current, and its a power hogg meaning you need to feed it to get the power your after!! Some people like the hk4000d, but on 12 vlts you will be lucky to see 3000rms hands down even at 14vlts you probably wont see 3500@2ohm and with being modded the hk4000d wont handle anything lower then a final 1ohm load, the vfl 400 is more effiecient will give you solid power, works well on 14.4 vlts stable down to 0.5 for daily driving, if your going to keep asking questions like this then give a price range, because obviously you do care about the cost since your trying to go the cheaper route. Bottom line if your not up around 16vlts then the hk4000d is a waste, alot of people would claim the hk4000 doesnt do 3600 clean power anyways, but all my american bass amps have been doing great at 0.5 daily on 14vlts....personal preferance is basically what it boils down to, I would choose the vfl400 over the hk4000 anyday..
