ive posted this about 200 times, but it seems every few months I have to do it again for people asking about MTX 9500's....I will tell you that they do have cone cracking problems if you're not careful around them. VERY easy to break that plastic cone they have on them.

Not saying this happens to everyones 9500s (and clearly you'd hear about it more if it did) .... but please be aware of the flimsey plastic cone on these subs.

well i like them FI but i wish i knew how i could get two 15s in a cavalier

you can get 2 15s in a cavalier easy! Do 6 cubes INTERNAL VOLUME after displacement port tuned at 28-32 hz depending on your listening habits and the btl 15s with 4000rms total and I am sure you wont be unhappy, considering you have the money to do this....you will need to upgrade batteries, and wire perhaps the alt in the long run, but this will do it, but I can tell you first hand you wont need 15s in that little car, I run a pair of atomic ap/spl 10s in my crown victoria and it bangs just fine.

i would get a btl 15 (fully loaded) and put it in a big ported box and buy one of the kicker kx2500.1 that are selling in the for sale section for $500.00. That should demolish your friends two 15 type r's.

If you run a single sub setup that would mean you had 600-800 a sub and with that kind of money you can pick somthing crazy up, if you want to just go all out SPL then pick up an atomic apxx 15 and 6k power in 5 cubes tuned at 32hz and your friends alpines wont be heard in his truck...

well i went to a car audio shop asked him and he did some measurments wat i got was he is gonna angle the box or some shit like dat lol and it will fit the box is gonna be 150 with a circle port but i can give him 25 more dollars and get square ports i dont kno which is better but let me see what 15s should i get two BTL 15s? with a kicker 2500.1??

If you want to do 15s thats fine, just make sure your final ohm load is 2 cause thats where the kicker is rated, if it were me I would go the atomics or audioques with the ab vfl400 or somthing to that effect, or the btls with the vfl400....just havnt used the kicker2500.1 and I know for 700$ shipped you can get a vfl400 and it is RATED at 4000@1ohm a bit underrated and stable down to 0.5 for MORE POWER.

ight them BTLs i really like but do you think that atomics or audioques will out hit the BTLs which is the hardest hitting with the vfl400 amp??

Your asking questions people cant answer man, everything is a factor, head unit, batteries, vehicle, box design, port sq in, port tuning, total air space, actualy rms power from the amp, actually ohm load after imp rise, you wont even know unless you get it metered on a TL which gives you an estimate of the kind of pressure your building in the vehicle....for a daily driver as I said before any of those choices are going to be a LOUD setup, but to give you an idea the audioques are rated at 1000rms, they will handle 2k all day, the atomic apx will handle 5k all day, the btl will handle 2.5k without the upgrades, and if you spend the cash the 35 series dd woofers would handle 2k daily or used 95 series would handle 3k daily DO you need that much power NO, but you seem to be so interested in this I am sure any sub of those choices you choose is going to blow your mind especially in that little A$$ car.

if you really wana save money go for the massive cw 12's. They are pretty fucking loud for the price. Another route would be to wait a while and get the new FI sub that scotts gunna start to make in the next month or 2.

lol yea ima have to wait AWHILE but i need spec for what ever sub ima get cuz the box is being built and i need specs so i guess ill just get these maybe the sub woofer wont change that much if it does i guess ill just buy another box...

dual 1 or dual 2 isnt going to matter on box specs man, dual 1 and dual 2 is just what the voice coils read if you were to check them with an ohm meter aka fluke/multimeter somthing to that effect.

what about the MA Audio HK4000D says it can run 2ohm stable or something like dat and its like 400 dollars cheaper ??
