What subs are comparible to W7's?

The Q will come within 2-3db of the W7, as far as SQ goes, eh. Most comparable would be something like the 05 XXX's if anything I guess.Due to the reduced BL distortion thanks to the XBL^2 motor.

But then again, who am I kidding......this is ca.com you guys just want the loudest boom boom you can get for the money.

the problem im haveing is that i made the box already and each sub will see 2.25 cubic feet before displacement and its tuned to 32Hz. i can re-cut the box to fit a 13w7 and it would fit perfect in there, but i really dont wanna spend that much if i dont have to. the other problem is im looking for the output and sq of a 13w7 in a 12 inch sub, i dont even kno if this is possible. but the fi q's are lookin good right now

2005 and older RE XXX is comparable.

Very good driver. Lot cheaper than a stinking W7, too.

Just get the Q.

There are other drivers out there that are comparable. But, since you stated that price was a concern; the Q will be your best bet.

Just that. It's a totally different sub.

It'll be a couple steps behind the W7 in output and pure SQ IMO. Although some might like the sound of the Q more, because it has that "fuller" sound. Instead of that "weird" (technically cleaner) sound.

have fun finding them and more power than a w7. Probably 1000-1500 is sufficient. Anyway, if I wanted 4 subs that are equivalent to a w7, this would be my choice.

They come in 4 packs at 150 a driver if bought in that quantity. It uses the same tech xbl^2 that you get from the xxx and cost less than you'd pay for a used xxx. Excursion is basically the same and they don't require nearly as much power. I graphed a 12w7 and a shiva x in the box you described using winisd. the w7 had slight edge below 40hz, the shiva did better from 40+. All in all pretty identical, better group delay with the shivas though, so sq might be better. This is mainly because the shivas want a bigger box, I'd stuff it with polyfll, odds are that'd fix it.
