What size wire?

I have a sundown 1500d and i am in the process of purchasing a sundown 100.4 for my mb quart components and mids. I have an optima yellow top under the hood. I will be running digital designs subs. My subs will be wired into a 1 ohm load on my 1500d. what size wire should i run? some guy recommended 4 gauge but the **** sundown has terminals big enough for 1 gauge. Should i use a fused distribution block or should i just splice the power wire? does it matter? thanks fellas

0ga from hood

kicker d-block; 0ga from d-block to 1500, 4ga from dblock to 100.4.

i have a similar setup, i couldn't fit 0ga thru my firewall, so i have 2 runs of 4ga.

1 run goes straight to my 1500 (running at 2ohm, ~900watts)

other run goes into dblock splits and powers a 100.2 and 100.4
