4 GUAGE OR BIGGER, AND KEEP YOUR GROUND THE SAME AS YOUR POWER WIRE FOR GUAGE AND AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE

im running the rockford bd1500.1, the rockford 1000a2, and an mtx 152 for my inners,

the 1500.1 pushes about 1700 on it birth certificate, 1000a2 pushes about 1200 on its birth certificate, and the mtx is about 200 watts, right now the car is wired with 4 gauge and a 250 amp circut breaker. but the wire get very hot so im gonna have to run new wire.. from what you guys say i think i'll run the 2 gauge if you still think thats good enough cause anything bigger will be real hard to hide... so 2 guage is ok right???

thanks

wow that is quite a bit of power, if i were you i would use 0/1 gauge to be safe. It will be a lil harder to hide but the power will flow better but you probly could get by on 2 gauge. And i am no expert to any means but hey thats the things i have notice in my time in car audio and you i might as well use the same size for the power wire. There is no reason to switch or at least that i can see.

NO with that much, I would concider a few caps on the line, and then split the 1/0 at a big nice Distrubution Block, split it down to

2 - 2au and 1 - 4au

I run 4 au up to around 1200watts

after that i normaly skip th e2 au and just go 1/0, cause obviously ill be spliting the signal donw anyways

go with the 1 gauge for power and ground(including your batterys) into distribution blocks then 4 gauge to the amps. I would recommend 3-4 farads of capacitors. How many amp alt. are you using?

i have 2, 2 farad caps and an optima yellow top battery... i still have the stock alt... but i need to get a new one cause my headlghts still dim when the bass hits.....
