What should I tune my amp to?

I have a Rockford Fosgate 800a2 and I got 2 12" Diamond Audio D6's in a sealed box. They sound pretty good but doesn't get low enough for me like my old setup: 2 cubic ported box running one 12" . I don't really want to go ported because I listen to a range of music but yes i do listen to rap and R&B on a daily basis though. I just don't know what to tune my amp to. It's currently at 80hz and my gains are about half way. Any suggestions on making it sound better for certain types of music?

haha is it me or does everyone in this forum only have ported? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif but I can totally understand why tho. Can anybody give me a number I can work with though? Is 80 just right?

Turns out my gains are way too low for how much power these subs needs. I just thought that since it rattles so much that I should keep it down to make it sound clean. I already used some leftover sound deadening (b-quiet) from my previous car but there still is alot more to cover and 1 layer isn't quite enough. and I'm upgrading my headunit into the CDA-9886 this weekend so I'll be hoping to play around with the eq settings to make my comps come alive.

A better question would be "What do I set my LPF and HPF to?" Your HPF should be set to like 25Hz or so. And your LPF to around 80Hz. Because the HPF lets frequencies higher than your setting play on your sub, while the LPF lets frequencies below your setting play on your subs. HPF is the lower limit, and the LPF is the upper limit. Make sure you dont have your HPF to like 50 hz, then that would be the problem your not playing low. The above statements are a good starting point for a sub amp. Your component amp settings should be set to HPF, and make it like 80Hz and above.
