I have been looking at videos of people using jasper circle jigs but nobody says what but they're using. I just bought a Ryobi plunge router for $100 and the $60 bit set. It has straight bits which I am thinking is what I need to use.
Yes and you can make a jig out of masonite hard board to cut the holes too or if you plan on cutting lots of hole the jig would prob be best best. I personally never owned a jasper jig but looks cool. I made a masonite one and never needed it. If you want pics message me its real simple to make and use.I have been looking at videos of people using jasper circle jigs but nobody says what but they're using. You need a 1/4" spiral up cut bit for holes with the Jasper.I have been looking at videos of people using jasper circle jigs but nobody says what but they're using. I just bought a Ryobi plunge router for $100 and the $60 bit set. It has straight bits which I am thinking is what I need to use.
Spiral UP? I was researching and I found the guy from Car Audio Fabrication saying a spiral DOWN bit. And of course Home Depot only had the up spiral bit.You need a 1/4" spiral up cut bit for holes with the Jasper.

I've always used up bits, just got 2 in the mail, matter of fact. The ones at home depot are pretty decent though.Spiral UP? I was researching and I found the guy from Car Audio Fabrication saying a spiral DOWN bit. And of course Home Depot only had the up spiral bit.
I haven't done anything with my current box build yet though. So if I can use a spiral up bit then I will get one.
What is the difference? I read that if you use a spiral up bit with the router facing downwards, it creates a kickback?I've always used up bits, just got 2 in the mail, matter of fact. The ones at home depot are pretty decent though.

Never had a kickback ever. The difference is it clears the shavings out as I cut by spitting them up and out. What is the difference? I read that if you use a spiral up bit with the router facing downwards, it creates a kickback?
