what makes the bass sound better outside car?

ok dude im gonna try and be the first one to give some kind of answer without flamming u. first off i dont know y people cant just give an answer without putting others down. if u wanna be heard outside of the car ( DRIVE BUYS ) ive been told that it has alot to do with the install, like someone already said. and with the way your subs are facing. i heard cars coming down the street that really sound loud, but when they pass u barely can hear jack. after i see those guys again and ask to see there system, they all had there subs facing forward. the guys that had them facing back out the trunk, seem to be better for drive buys because i could here them rolling up and long after they passed. thats just my 2 sence, im just a noob, but i did look into this a while ago.

oh yeah one more thing to make it alot easier. lol

install, sub you are using, power, which way sub is facing, type of car, ( hatch backs and suv's seem to be louder, and if your windows are down or not , will play a big role on people hearing u outside.

lol well i wouldnt call him a ****tard, but he probably just wants to impress others at the stoplight or at a parking lot. inside is all that matters colb12, having people hear your bass outside will give your car a bullseye for a jacking. plus you dont really wanna be slamming your subs next to some elders do you?

well i agree, he should atleast put in his post what exactly he wants. drivebuys or actuall sound quality outside of car, which yeah i think is off the wall. but alot of people out there do want there shit to be heard outside, i.e., drive buys regardless of being singled out for getting jacked. think about it, how many people out there would pull up and say, (hey lets go get metered so we can see whos louder.) come on it just dont happen like that. people would rather impress others with drive buys than going the right way and being metered.i for one dont care and rather keep my quality inside. just knowing that my shit is good enough to stomp on others is fine with me. but yeah i think HE SHOULD REPLY AND SAY WHAT EXACTLY HE IS LOOKING FOR.

I wasnt flaming him either. I was speaking the truth. Its the people that drive around all over the place blasting their system that is making the cops crack down. All of the old people get annoyed by it and call the cops and complain.

The noise ordinence is so ****ing strict around here that you cant harldy have it up at all. The cops will pull you ever and give you a ticket for 74.50 if they can hear you for 25 feet or more. And its rediculous because bass travels.

I listen to my music loud as hell all the time, but I'm not trying to impress people. I just like my music loud but I do keep my windows up just so people won't get annoyed with me. When I pick up my little brother from high school I like to bump i'm too sexy or some country just to embarass him but that's the only time I try to get attention. lol

I have heard from numerous people that 12 inch speakers are usually able to be heard farther than 15 inch speakers. However 15s are usually louder on the inside.

lol? I seriously doubt cone diameter has anything to do with being heard further from you vehicle. Yes, I believe 15s do tend to get lower, but it has nothing to do with it.

SPL outside of your vehicle is all install dependent & also vehicle dependent. If you have your setup in a trunk, well it's def. going to rattle and sound like shit. My guess would be that SUVs/Hatchers & Trucks would be best for being heard outside of your vehicle.

Some people just dont understand...I dont always want people to hear my system either...BUt when im with my boys and i want to let them hear it i dont want millions of people taking turns setting in my car...I like when people say hey men ur system sounds real clean...

We all like to show off at one point or another and bass is just another way to do it
