There are plenty of shallow mount subs, go small sealed. Or for even more space savings, go infinite baffle. The physical diameter of the speaker is a small portion of the story of how much room the entire system will occupy.I like the way it looks and I like my trunk space...

The determining factor in what type of speaker it is is based upon the frequency range it is designed to play. As suggested above, there are 6.5' subwoofers out there (designed to playIt is a base speaker though, isn't it?
If not, can you tell me whether anyone makes subs that small?
(I confess I am a bit confused as to what defines a speaker as a "subwoofer" exactly..?)
My system is just lacking "oomph" and I want to get the best quality bass speaker that can fit in the limited space available.
