What is the problem?~

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me figure something out. I just installed 2 10" subs in my car with a 600 watt amp and a Pioneer Dh-6400 deck. I used 12 guage wire for all the wiring. The amp has a direct hookup to the battery and is turned on and off by a switch. Whenever I play any type of music, my rear car speakers are louder than my subs. They play both treble and bass, but the bass sounds like crap factory speakers. MY subs are working properly, in that they are both moving whenever i play the song, but they are not loud enough. They seem to be muted out by my rear factory speakers. Any suggestions~?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

do you not have a remote lead to your amp? also did you check the sub out setting on the head unit?

Pioneer units have that feature where you can set the preout to full or s/w and the same with your rear speakers, you can set it either way. Make sure your rear speakers are set to full and the preout is set at s/w. You can access this feature when your stereo is off by pushing the volume knob or the audio button ( i am not sure on your particular unit) and holding it.

Those are good suggestions, but i have tried every possible thing with my head unit. And yes, I do have it set to the frnt+s/w speaker instead of the frnt+rear or whatever. I am confident that it's nothing to do with my head unit. It felt like my rear speakers were hogging all the power, so i tried to disconnect them and I couldn't hear my subs very well, even though they were still moving to the beat.

Also, the remote lead.... If you mean a switch then I do have a wire coming out from the amp with a simple on/off switch that lays next to my seat on the left side. IF that's not what you mean, than can you explain it?

Thanks for the suggestions

Your subs may be wired out of phase. Try disconnecting one subwoofer at the box and see if you get more bass with just the other sub playing. If the bass increases, connect the first sub again but reverse the polarity of the wires.
