what is so wrong with running at .05 as a daily driver

im asking is can i run a amp that is underpowering subs at .05 and just watch for voltage drops

Why not wire up a couple relays to switch between 2 ohm daily and .5 ohm just being stupid... Itll save the smoke on the amp a HELLA LOT LONGER!

Plus, the subs may not get full power constantly. (I knew what he had, he typed it) But, will he be bumpin it at full tilt 24/7? I know I dont, when I felt (while I had my system, stupid theives) like bumpin Id flip the switch and slam. But normally would ride around with the bass down low. What better way to have control and better SQ than running closer to 4 ohm... You have to admit .5 ohm isnt as pretty as 2 ohm or 4 ohm.

When you go to show it off, flip your relays on to pound away (you shouldnt even need to adjust gains, it normally works about right). When just riding around NOT being dumb run it at 2 ohm. It will be better SQ and work the amplifier less, SAVING IT!!! Maybe next time you should have the correct amp for the situation.

Do you really think I care about this site? I can tell people the correct way to do it. The IASCA regulations. but n00bs dont listen. Its a known fact. Just wondering why people bring that to others attention. Its not like they are going to send it in and say "man i dont know why it broke. maybe because it was running at .5 "

does impedence rise mean anything to any of you people?

.5 is going to create a lot less resistance and its going to run hotter, as long as you aren't stupid (almost) any 1 ohm will play .5 daily. Make sure its getting plenty of air circulation and you'll be fine.

Only people that don't understand impedence rise or resistance in general are the ones that say its retarded to run an amp below its rated impedence
