what is so wrong with running at .05 as a daily driver

im stuck with dvc 2ohm l7 12" subs, id like to not make a new box and go down to one sub, id like to not have to upgrade a ton of shit, and id like to not have to buy a 4k watt amp to run these **** things at 2ohm. i dont have a good electrical but iv never seen it drop below 12v(even with my kicker on it wired to .05 altho i watched gain settings alot more) so i guess what im asking is can i run a amp that is underpowering subs at .05 and just watch for voltage drops.

nothing as long as the amp is ok with it and you mean .5 ohm.

Nothings wrong with it as long as the amp can take that low of an ohm load, and your electrical can handle the extra power being drained.

so aslong as the amp can take it and i dont drop below 12v at anytime at .5 is it better for the amp itself to run at 2ohm and have the gains pumped up or at .5 with gains way down?

Why not wire up a couple relays to switch between 2 ohm daily and .5 ohm just being stupid... Itll save the smoke on the amp a HELLA LOT LONGER!

Because he has 2 subs, both 2 ohm dvc. The Sundown puts out 600 watts @ 2 ohm. That's 300 per sub...
Now if it's not gonna hurt it at .5, then he'll get 600 each. That'd be alot better.

I know I dont, when I felt (while I had my system, stupid theives:verymad like bumpin Id flip the switch and slam. But normally would ride around with the bass down low. What better way to have control and better SQ than running closer to 4 ohm... You have to admit .5 ohm isnt as pretty as 2 ohm or 4 ohm.

nothing wrong with running a .5 ohm load daily aslong the amp is stable and got the electrical etc my friend has 2 mmats d2000.05 on 4 12 sx dual 2's amps dont even get hot, IMO i think mmats makes the best .5 ohm amps.

the SAE amps are not meant to run @ .5 ohms. It is designs to be run @ 1 ohm at the lowest. It is not like the SAZ amps where they can be run @ .5 without problem.

if that sundown is under warranty still, running it at .5 will void it!
