Depends on how large the alt is. The alt makes power, the battery should just be for reserves.

I didn't realize you were only going to be running only 2300w. I'm running a 2500w sub amp and about ~250w to my front stage on a 240a HO alt and AGM under the hood. I have almost no voltage drop except a moderate amount at idle.

my car kills agms, can't understand it, don't know why, but they all go bad in a month... stock batt. fine... think it has to do with the bullshit ecotec gassaver/voltage regulator

If you plan on keeping the car a while go ahead and get a HO alt. if not, just stick another battery or two in the back and call it good. Your alt is a little small for that power level but not too bad.

Invest in a good AGM battery charger/tender and put your car on the charger every now and then to top it off.

tried diehard plat., and two yellow tops all brand new and got killed within a month... they think the v. reg. don't charge high enough to keep them up so they just drain and die internally, so i went back to stock

13's is actually not bad voltage drop, even mid 12's as long as it goes back up to high 13's, i use the harbor freight $20 charger, charges my car on the weekend, my alt is smaller than yours i have 2 35ah battery and running 3 amps

and sometimes on big bass it drops to 12.3 but recovers quickly
