what high end sub do you guys think?

Well I am also don't know much about this Mag sub everyone is referring too. I my self love my flatline. I have been through a long list high end subs and have stuck with the Flatline. My only recomendation to him is what ever you go with just dont let it be the w7!!!!!

In what way? SQ, SPL, SQL? lower distortion? over all why does it " edges out the IDMAX " as you say it?

Sorry, I was outside listening to Black Sabbath's hits 1970-1978 (digitally remastered).

I have had both in a similar sealed box (both right around 2.2 Ft^3 net) and in the same vehicle. Both were powered by one of my Zapco 9.0s. While both were quite impressive, I thought the MAGs were a little cleaner and faster (especially on the lower end). The MAGs in my opinion got louder too.

Can't argue with the folks that suggested the Arc Flatline. Of course, I am one of the few that uses it =].

Yes the 15 Mag is more efficient and performs really well with 700-900 watts rms. The 12 likes 1200-1500 rms. Even with your amp Arc Audio is underated and either size will pound hard as hell. But if you have room for a 15 get it and let it wang.

well im leaning twd the mag so far although i like the way that flatline looks but i know thats not important. i also going to meet up with a dude from antoher board that has one but he only has the jl 500.1 amp running it so im thinking its not going to be as loud as i want it to be but hopeing i can get a good feel.

Gamefish...I would dump the center console sub/midbass idea and the Focal idea as well. If you want some serious midbass w/ a serious sub stage...look at my signature. ya the center sub thing was an idea but i been reading around on the full size chevy boards and there isnt that much room under there any way. as far as geting rid of the focals.... well i know they dont have the greatest mid bass but there rest will make up for it plus im geting them at cost cuz im good friends with the dealer so ya point made lol thx though

Sounds good, do you know if he has a 15 or a 12? Both sizes would still sound very good on 500 watts, since they are efficient drivers.

i think he said he had the 12. but i did talk to the instaler at the shop im dealing with and he wants to take a look first but he said he may be able to fit the 15 in there!

so is it safe for me to guess that the 15 is the better choice here?

im more of a home audio guy this is my first high end car stero so if my questions seem stupid thats why. lol

I find the MAG a little too loud for me... but, just my personal preference.

You find a sub to loud? How can you find a sub too loud?

I have a great way to fix that.
