What HDTV do you use?

I prefer Paradigm Studio series to B&W's personally (Studio 40's and 20's FTW)
Won $1000 at my works christmas part tonight so I'm probably getting a Panasonic TH-42px60u in the next week or so. I just think for my room a 50 would be too big, but the 50" Sony SXRD is really tempting......anybody have opinions on these tv's?
You must be slightly deaf then. Paradigm... LAWL.

What series B&W's have you heard?

Oh snap, that is the kind of interface that I have been dreaming of for a multi-DVD changer. X-box does that? Is it just a library of some sort or is that hooked up to a DVD changer?
(I apologize for the ignorance of X-box, etc.. I am stictly a PC-gamer.)
It is a modded xbox with xbox media center networked to my server. I have 4 400gb hard drives in the server and I rip all my dvd movies over to it so I can stream them. I have another one in the bedroom as well

The one in the bedroom is just a basic modded one to stream the movies, but the one in the living room has a 250gb hard drive which stores about 100 xbox games and thousands of emulated games

Anytime you add a movie you just hit info on the remote and it connects to IMDB(Internet Movie Data Base) and downloads the plot/cast and cover art and stores it.

A basic modded xbox should only run you about $125.

There is a ton more you can do with it like web browse, ftp, etc. but I wont get into that now.

Figured I would add some more pics:)

I have heard lot's of the 700 series and 600 series and 300 series. I also listened to a pair of 800 series towers, but who has 10k laying around for those. I am in no way saying b&w speakers aren't phenomenal, but I preferred the sound of the Paradigm Studio series over the equivalent price point in a B&W. I'm sure as the price point increases the differences also increase, but in the $1500 per pair range they are fairly similar- to my ears the B&W's sounded more warm and fat, whereas the Paradigms that I bought sounded more accurate, especially in the top end. I guess this is why there are so many speaker companies, everyone's tastes differ, but to you guys that want to crack me like I must be deaf, you can kiss my pucker I have just as much right to my opinion as you do and I went back and forth between some 805's and Studio 40's and just preferred the clarity of the Paradigms. Sorry if you disagree. My brother's system is all B&W's and sounds great, mine is all Paradigm Studio (can't even compare them to the cheaper monitor series) and sounds great as well. The Paradigm Signature series are even better still and also compete with B&W in the higher price points.

I have loved all the Paradigm speakers I have had. They are an excellent "bang for you buck" speaker.

I started with Paradigm Monitor 7's, Monitor 5's, CC-250 hooked to an Anthem preamp/amp combo

Now due to space I have Atoms, ADP-70's, CC-200 hooked to a Denon 2802 receiver and it sounds wonderful

I have never owned the higher end studio line, but I would recommend the lower end Paradigm line to anyone on a budget

Thank you, I agree that for the cash Paradigm monitor speakers sound great, currently my setup is a Denon 2105 receiver, Studio 40's front, the CC-470 center, studio 20's rear, and a Seismic 10 sub- sounds great to everyone that has heard it.

I'm sure any of those would be an excellent choice. I just really like the way Paradigms sound. My best advice would be to take music you know very well to some dealers and just listen to everything you are interested in. That's really the only way to make a decision, once you know what you like best, then go wherever you can get the best price.

Listening and watching TV's and Speakers is the key to finding what looks the best to your eyes and ears. Paradigm isn't really in the same class as B&W. I'm sure the reason they sound "warmer" or "fatter" is because the mid->low-mid range is much fuller and natural. (Difference between a higher end speaker and a sony book shelf system, the sony system sounds less warm or fat than the higher end one) It's all in what you are used to listening to. Also, the equipment used to power/drive the speakers make a BIG effect on higher end gear. The Paradigm you can get away with running cheaper gear, while B&W's you can run that same equipment but when you upgrade to Rotel, Arcam, or something crazy like Classe the difference is rather large...

Yeah, running off receiver power... it's quite possible the PAIR-UH-DIJM's sound better to you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...

I agree with the EhRon... the B&W's are in a completely different class.

That's the 337H you got there right?
How is it so far?

Does that have a built in tuner, or no? Forgot if that one has it or not...looking at that and the 537h.
yes the 337h, no tuner

working great so far, just waiting to get rid of the huge tv next to it so i can settle it down in its final resting place and calibrate it with avia
