What happens if SSF is set inaccurately?

most subs in a car can play around one octave below box tuning-most.

if your tuned to 33hz then one octave lower is 16.5hz, you will want to set your ssf to at lest half of that so 25hz would be where id put it. the sub will still play lower notes and have some control when doing so.

so is there any difference between setting my ssf at 20 if its at 30 right now? will my sub not cool as well or what? im not gonna change it to 20 i just wanna know what the difference would be.. if there is one

It has nothing to do with cooling, I was wrong, disregard my previous statement.

If it is set too low the cone will move too much causing the coil to hit the back plate (bottom out) and also possibly deform/damage the cone and surround.
