i know they are probably fine but i just am curious as to what happens if i were to set it to say... 20 hz.. does that just allow my sub to accept anything over 20hz with no consequence or what?It will rip a hole in the atmosphere allowing solar radiation to bombard the earth causing an early rapture.
Your settings are fine.
You sure? I've always been told otherwise. It helps prevent the sub from over excursion below tuning
wonderfulmy SSF is set to its lowest setting, which is 10hz or 15hz idr off hand
ok so what would be the diff if i set it to 20 hz as opposed to 30.. nothing? or is that not a good ideaIt allows the sub to cool better when playing below tuning, if a sub isn't moving much then there will be no mechanichal force to cool the coils when they heat up and they eventually might fry.
If anything, the sub will cool better as it's unloading, as there's significantly more coil travel than when the cone is under control...what destroys the driver at that point is mechanical suspension damage, not thermal damage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifIt allows the sub to cool better when playing below tuning, if a sub isn't moving much then there will be no mechanichal force to cool the coils when they heat up and they eventually might fry.
Then what am I thinking of when there is almost no cone travel? If anything, the sub will cool better as it's unloading, as there's significantly more coil travel than when the cone is under control...what destroys the driver at that point is mechanical suspension damage, not thermal damage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
