What going on with my sub?????

when i play my oa 15 on low frequencies like 20's the sub like pops and makes a like womp sound. more on the long notes than on the short ones. I've looked back at the sub when it does it and the cone is moving a lot so is it over excursion? or whats join on? its on my apsm 1300 so I'm not over powering it. and i don't even have my volume turned more than 3/4 of the way up. i set gains with my dmm properly. so #1 whats going on? And #2 is it okay for it to do this?

its in a low tuned box. 27 hz. 3.5 cubes.

my buddies subs do the same thing in his truck in a sealed box, but if he rolls both his windows down the stop doing it.

Its bottoming out. Either its to big or not tuned as low as you think

theres plenty of room behind the box. theres an inch or so right be hind the magnet where i have a 2 by 2 bracing. by it should be hitting that??

if my box is double walled do i need the bracing then? i got the design from ram. and how is it flexing the box that far??? or is it the subs cone bottoming out?

the bracing if anything will help load cone, your bottoming out. Box is making sub unload, whether it be some unforeseen cabin geometry problem or just specked wrong.

maybe put in another thing of bracing to take up some space?? or what else could i do?

Sure.. Stick a air hose in the box

okay but will this damage the sub letting it try? cuz it is making the note some. but i just hate having to turn it down quick on those notes.

box is 3.4 tuned to 33hz if I remember right isn't the rms 600rms? It probably doesn't have the suspension to handle 20hz in that big of a box.
