What gauge for 2 shivas?

Unless you have unusually long speaker run lengths, or are using unheard of amounts of power, 12ga speaker wire is as big as you'll ever need, unless you are wanting to impress your friends with monster wires.

Nothing wrong with running bigger gauge wire, please no PM's saying this. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I was simply saying its not necessary.

Big wire definitely looks cool. But you will not get any actual performance benifit from anything over 16 awg wire. Amplifiers are voltage source devices, so you don't need thick wire.

very true...

i went from 14ga to 4 ga (yes, 4ga) speaker wire... and saw no gain... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

there is also resistance, capacitance, and inductance.

Bunch of voodoo IMO... but some eccentric HT guys will bet the farm that cat 5 cable has infinitely better SQ than regular ole 14ga speaker cable.
