What fuse type?

I currently have an AGU 80amp fuse connected to a 4awg power wire for my HiFonics Brutus 1500D and when I turn the volume up to 30 with the bass set at 0 on my Kenwood it blows the fuse, with a competition bass cd. The amp itself has 2 60amp fuses and I'm wondering if I should replace the AGU 80amp with an ANL 120amp. Will this prevent it from blowing again?

Yes, always use the same size fuse in your power wire as the amp or total of all the amps use.

Thats what I assumed but I didn't want to make an ass out of myself. So which type of fuse is better, ANL or AGU?

anl is supposedly better. agu fuses only go up to about 80amps afaik.

Yes, always use the same size fuse in your power wire as the amp or total of all the amps use.

Id have to say that is incorrect unless you are running unfused amps.. The fuse is there to keep your wire from trying to carry too much current and frying/catching something on fire.

On that note I'd suggest that you match the fuse to the wire... anyone got a link to that gauge/distance=max amps chart?
