What First Made You Interested In Car Audio?

I'd have to say it was an page in an Ultimate Electronics ad for two 12" Infinity Subs that looked beautiful. From there, I've gotten a set of components, new 6x9 rears, two 6.5" subs, a 4 channel amp, a mono amp, and a two channel amp. Plus more.

i'd have to say this thread has been done before...

but when i was given an old school pyramid amp. it sat forever because i had no idea wtf it was really. then came across it, hooked it up to some HT 15"s i had and the rest is history

First time I heard a subwoofer in car back in 1986. A RF 12" off of a Punch 75. Still remember the car. A blue VW Rabbit, just stumbled upon the guy in a parking lot.

i had to get a new front speaker for my pontiac grand prix, i bought two boxes, then after opening found that speakers are sold in sets. soon they were not loud enfough got an amp. after that they did not enfough low end so got some subs (infinity)....

My brother had got a system in his car. Then he got it all taken out and I was like " Well shit I wanna put it in my car" He had a JL 10w2 I think off a JL 6 channel amp. Then I was in the feen for MOAR BASS! My buddy gave me his Type r 10" I tried to hook up the Type R and JL sub in seperate boxes off seperate channels of the amp. Blew the JL sub. Then put a giant whole into my Type R. Kid with 2 Audiobahn flame q's that got stupid loud but sounded horrible in sophmore year. started buying doors/decks for my 95 grandam then upgraded to the escape and got some xplodssss.

wel umm..back about 4 years ago I had a pair of old school mtx 12s off a jbl 600.1 sealed in my s10. A buddy of mine convinced me to put them in there so I was like eh, why not.

Put them in there, hooked them up and I was hooked from there.

a old iroc camaro that had the box going all the way from the trunk to behind the front seats with two 18'' jl's in it (this was 1996 so i couldnt tell you what kind of JL's they were). then about a few years later a hatchback(cant remember what kind of car) had two 12'' kicker comps in it and we caught a ride one day and it was the first time subs made it to where i couldnt breathe. from then on i was hooked on clean sound and hard bass

My neighbor bought 2 12" MTX's and put them in a diamond plated box. I was 8 or 9 at the time and thought that was awesome. then when I was 13 my cousin had 2 12's I have no idea what they were I think he said Rockford fosgate. When I got my car last June I some subs for free, and then I found this site. Ever since that I have been addicted.
