What exactly do I need

Planning on running 3000 watts in the near future, just trying to get together a budget right now.

The plan would be to have a run of 1/0 wire for power, and an HO alt. However I don't know what I would be needing in terms of batteries, or how to run multiple batteries (if necessary).

Off topic, but how would running a three way speaker setup be? As in an 8in tweeters and a 5.25". In terms of cost to benefits, and curious how you would cross it over, like what equipment would be necessary to run a 3 way speaker set up.

Thanks guys.

u will need an alot over 200 amps and atleast 1 or 2 extra batteries....and if u want a true sq setup u would go active but if ur looking for over the top bass then i dont think ur really going to need an sq setup....

In terms of batteries what do I need? 1 to 2 extra but thats obviously dependent on what I buy

So you're saying you think I should just go with a basic component set up for my front stage? I just want a very strong front stage.

Id get a group 31 deka, kinetik 2400, along those lines

Components or coax will play strong, but components tend to sound better.

I use my co ax speakers for the highs. I tune out any frequencys below 200/300 hz to them.

so when I am shoping speakers I like 3 ways better than 2 ways - since all I realley want is the tweets anyhow.

I use the 6.5" $10 pearless woofers from parts express - with anything below 80hz tuned out

and I also use a 8" selenium 8w4p - with anything below 60hz tuned out.

to achieve the tuning - im using a crossover - that has front out put - rear output - sub output

and is all ajustable.

the $10 6.5 inch pearless woofs from pe are realley a good bang for the buck. I mean realley....

mine sound great

o about batterys.

please wire up the + to the + and all the - to all the other - terminals.

some viechles **** at conducting ground - so plan on doing a run of 1/0 + from the back battery to the front battery

and also a run of - 1/0 from the back battery to the front battery. then also do back battery to ground

and the big 3 up front.

I agree with the group 31 size battery for supplying power for 3k about 100 amp hours I guess is a good start off.

your system / and viechle will let you know if it needs more after you get it installed and do some testing.

Well if I went with a three way active set up I would go with the Kicker SS 8's along with crescendo super tweeters, I just wouldn't know what crossovers or what 5.25" speakers to get. Or would I be better off just investing like 200$ into a 6.5" component set?

There is no way I'm using coax speakers unless it is for rear fill though i feel like that would just take a way from a good front stage.

Hmm, so for the batteries I would be needing 3 runs of 1/0 if the battery is in the back, and an additional run of 1/0 for the amps. Would the group 31 battery be the sole battery or would that be required on top of w/e I have under the hood? Because it sounds like I could save like 100$ in wire if it is just one battery under the hood.

Anyway, just trying to make a preliminary budget to see what I may or may not need to cut/ add.

if you have a BAD *** alternator - then you can get a good agm battery for up front

and skip the rear battery all together..

but with a stock alternator - the more battery you can have = the better.

me personaly - my 1972 plymouth is getting three group 31 size agm batterys in the trunk / and a kenetik 800 under the hood.

and im only running a saz1500d and a couple of 4 channel amps for the highs n mids. overkill

yes

but it will give me piece of mind to know that when im bassing at a show - I wont be dipping voltage in to protect mode.
