What do you think of the new set up?

Just ordered everything.

Receiver: Onkyo tx-8555

1 pair of Polk RTI A7 tower speakers, to be powered by (2) Onkyo m-282 amps. Thats 200 watts rms to each speaker, they will be daisy chained and bi amping each speaker.

Then I am using a niles speaker selector box to break down my 2 channels on my receiver into 4 channels to power my pool room in wall speakers and another pair outdoors. Both of those pairs of speakers are from home theater direct. Also using the Onkyo dsa2x ipod dock.

I'm still not sure about the sub stage of the room with the A7's though. I know they will have tons of bass and more than enough for your average listener, and I can't go with the mj-18 anymore because my dad doesn't want to build the box and spend time making it look nice. He's not a big fan of big bass but does anyone have any suggestions on a sub that looks great, preferably dark cherry, and sounds good too for the price? I was looking at the lower end of the Martin Logan sub line... but even those are still super expensive. Maybe something that will cost around $400 total? Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions, thanks.

I don't really see a need for the receiver, what about a dedicated preamp?

I've never looked into preamps, don't know anything about them, other than they cost a ton of $$$. I need the receiver to power the second room that has a pair of in walls, and to power a pair right outdoors.

Managed to get the a7's for a total of 660, the amps and receiver got in today, I'll try and get pics up when it is all finally hooked up. Picked up a nice polk sub today too, the DSW PRO 500 for $330. Has anybody used this sub before? It will be a few weeks before I can get it hooked up, heard nothing but good reviews on other sites.

Big fan of MArtin logan here, check into the dynamo at the closing Tweeter/Sound advice stores supposed to be 40% off or more. I have the grotto and love it.

also maybe find some of the small velodyne mini-vees for a reasonable price. Both have small foot prints and great output for their size while staying clean.

Woulda gotten the dynamo but they had already sold it at sound advice. Coulda had it close to the same price for my polk too. I have a friend with a velodyne and it sure does sound good, don't know if it is the minivee but that was another top choice as well.
