well i got a 15" brahma but i think i want more spl. i want to do something different like a crap loud of 8's or 10's. also i was thinking of maybe doing 3 LI12's in a sealed box. would i see a big difference in spl with 3 sealed 12's then 1 15 ported? also what do you guys suggest for a few 8's or 10's? my amp puts out 1494 rms at 2-4 ohms.

you could do like what i was gunna do and put 18 8s in the back of your car. theyll give you some more spl. if you got the cash going with the 8w7 would be pretty loud or some re or adire 8s. as far as 3 12s sealed vs 1 15 ported its all gunna be hearsay. do you not have the room to do 3 12s ported?

i should. got pretty much the hole back end of a jeep grand cherokee to work with. 18 8's are a little more then what i was thinking, lol

would building a bigger box (current one is 3.2 cubes tuned to 33 hz.) and increasing power, say 2000 watts rms make a noticeable difference in spl from my brahma?

yea. definatly go with a bigger box for more spl. something aorund 5 or 6 cubic feet and with 2000 watts should definatly give you an increase in spl. 3.2 seems a little small for a ported box for that sub. id make a box with changeable port freqs so you can try em out and see which you like best. find the right balance of sq and spl for your taste.

i was thinking of doing a port plug. 35 hz. daily and maybe 45 hz. for spl. don't do comps but it would be nice to be able to blast it a couple times. isn't 5 to 6 cubes kinda big? i was thinking maybe 4-4.5 cubes after displacement and maybe have the sub fire up and the port face the tailgate.

there is not much drop off really, more so power handeling, but 4 10s would be sweet too,

 

for box dimension (since the new '05 L5s are out) I would rather leave the dimensions up to Polecat, he is the Kicker man

talk to the Adire boys, I would try a new box before buying more subs

teg has his xxx in a 5.5 tuned 30hz daily 50 for comp. and ive heard of 9 cubes for a 18xxx so the 5-6 range isnt to big for the woofer. my guess is if you made it about 2^3ft bigger than you have right now that you would have a noticable increase in spl however im not sure how much im just going off of what others have said. if you can build boxs then spend the $25 for a new sheet of mdf and try out the new box idea. it would be less trouble than switching voer your whole system and if you dont like it your only out $25 or you may be able to sell the box and get some money or break even. atleast that way youll know if it makes a differance to you or not. if not then get them l78s they should have some nice poundage to em.
