What do you guys think of the Iphone?

Not blaming you for beating the shit out of your phones. I just find it hard to believe you went through 3 of them and still "upgraded to the S model". Where I'm from you would not have been eligible for an upgrade that soon so you would have had to pay full price for it. So if that is true, you actually do like the device. Easily you could have sold it and bought a regular phone.

I love the device. As I said in the original post you failed to completly read. For me, it is the absolute best phone out there at this time. WinMo sucks, and most of the apps are useful. and do tell me, (and at least TRY and put some thought into this, i'm sure you are capable of that) HOW does software failures=beating the shit out of a phone? what could I do to the phone to cause a software problem? Dont be upset the iPhone isnt god.

Maybe you should re read mine. I said it does what I need it to do. Never said it was God. I even jailbroke mine. Still no "software issues" that would cause me to return it. I never said it's the end all be all of phones. You must have me mistaken for an Apple nuthugger. I don't wait in lines and I don't hold up for bullshit. I just found the fact that you been through 3 phones and still upgraded to the newer one a little unusual. I wouldve given up after the first replacement failed. If you took what I wrote the wrong way then you need to not do that next time.

Software crashes? You have to reboot the phone?

I've owned the iphone since day 1 (company I worked for gave them to employees)

I've modified the firmware and hacked the phone until it wouldn't even turn on anymore and brought it back.

It currently runs the latest OS (unlockable) and VERY VERY RARELY crashes.

and when it does crash it is a 3rd party app that just quits and I am brought back to the home screen.

I never have to reboot the device..

I've also owned all of the popular blackberries and HTC and etc smart phones..

I don't know how anyone can say the iphone crashes more.. Cause they are lying through their teeth..

The iPhone is overpriced. It serves no function I actually need. They have this new thing...very very new called a map. Stay with me now, but a map can show me exactly how to get from point A to point B. The map never needs batteries and you can use it as often as you'd like. For resturants, they have another new thing called the yellow pages...you can flip through the yellow pages and find any resturant in the town.
I think the iphone is a gimmick and I wouldn't spend $50 on it. It just doesn't do anything I actually need.

A map? What are you, Christopher Columbus? The Iphone is a status symbol like bottled water and lattes. You'll be the talk of the carpool with an Iphone.

I do carry a map. I have a copy of the map of TN, KY, and AL in all my cars. Most convienance stores have a yellow pages. I don't really go to any states besides those, but if I were to go, I'd bring a map and plan my route, along with alternatives, before I left the house.
If I am traveling with a friend over 100 miles in their car, I bring a map of where we are going and a flashlight and jumper cables. You'd be surprised how many people do not keep a flashlight in their cars.

a lot of people do this as do i for trips when i go to miami for shopping or such things i would need to plan ahead as i'm not familiar with the area, though say i wanted to do something else that i thought of wat the last minute while up there, having such apps or access to information at the palm of your hand is quite handy.

like a few months ago when i got my windows tinted in miami, while i was up there i decided wanting to go to an RE authorized dealer to look at prices for 4 12's. at the time i didn't have an iphone. what did i have to do? drive all over the place and asking around for a kinkos to use the internet. upon finally finding a kinkos i ended up spending 10 bucks to use the internet, look up a nearby dealer, and print out directions from map quest.

if i had a device on hand that could easily hook me up to the net and overlook directions w/o having to go out of my way to get directions it is quite handy.

i know a lot of phone do this and i'm not nutting it onto the iphone, just saying in general having the ability to look something up at an instant is nice.
