I have an x811d and my friend has a 9152 both of which are not truly one ohm stable, they shut off after about 10 mins in the middle of summer at 1 ohm if you push them hard. Mine did eventually blow a trace @ 1ohm on the output stage of the board but it was fixed for free at a local competition and it has worked great since with no problems. Now I run it at 2 ohms on just one sub. They are still good for the money you can get them pretty cheap on ebay. I seriosuly doubt even though mine is CEA rated 1016 watts @ ohm that it can push that for very long without shutting off. A JL 500/1 was louder than my x811d and didnt even warm up when we swapped it out on two type r 12's. Unless you really like the looks of them or you can get a great deal, I wouldnt buy another one just get a used amp that is known for high quality.

i have i went 2 months with a 8151d. and it did the job on my type r's but u need todo something else for bass. it will sound ok but its not really 1ohm stable and if u dont set the gains right it will be clipping excessively.

I read good reviews of the xxv-03a, which was kenwood's 25th anniversary class d amp. It was rated 1000w rms @ 1 ohm. I think they stepped up the beefyness of the amp to make it actually 1ohm stable.

See if you can still find one on ebay. I think they were blowing them out at like $250 toward the end of their run.

I was gonna get one and run a 15" kicker l7 in my audi, but decided on sql rather than spl and went with two type-x's, so it ended up being cheaper to run a 2000w hifonics amp than two of the kenwoods.

This last bit will hold true for any amp regardless of brand...

I know kendwood class a/b amps are pretty decent. I have no experience with the class d amps, tho. Sounds like it could be a whole different story.
I run a Class D Kenwood eXcelon amp on my 12" (that I bought used) and after 3 years of banging on it daily it still works fine and has presented me with no issues whatsoever at ths point.

I have not used any of the units they advertise to be 1 Ohm stable...my monoblock is run @ 2 Ohms all day everyday and doesn't complain a bit, though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have zero experience with anything Audiobahn. Never owned a single piece of their gear.
