Flat cone e12o? (nomex cone).

I owned a flat cone e12a for a while so I should know a bit about these subs...

It sounded good... I ran it ported at 33 Hz in 2.2 cubes, (I think.. memory gets hazy) and had 1500 watts on it. Very clean SQ. Didn't hit lows like the HCCA or RE though.

After owning many much better subs, I can say that eD subs are decent, but the company has had a really bad rep for sending out faulty drivers. I avoid eD like the plague after all that crap went down.

The flat cone 12's held up ok... the 15's had a propensity to crack.

$125 for one of those? That sub looks like it's been through WWIII... look at the magnet! I'd say that sub is worth $80 tops.

thanks 4 the input homie.

Yeh, my 12a did sound very good. Not an SPL sub, more of an SQL/audiophile sub.

The e12o's retailed just over $200, so I think $80 for a decent condition/non-abused sub is a fair price.

Yeh, point taken on that magnet... tarnish is easily buffed out. The cone and surround on that sub look in good condition. The surrounds on the flat cone eD's were very good and took a beating. My 12a was in my trunk when we got hit with a hurricane in 2002, and it got wet, but worked fine after.

I had no complaints with my flat cone 12a. I sold the car with the setup in 2004 and from what I've heard both the car and sub are still trucking along just fine.

I enjoyed the flat cones as well I had a couple of B-Stock 12Kx's 4 years ago. 139db with a pair of $65 drivers that sounded really good.

They are still kicking around now with the third owner.

But the O series were a sealed application driver, they wernt recommended for ported setups.

Definitely a bit of a high price for that, I paid about that for one 3 years ago.

The 12o is a sealed only/IB only driver. The o series was regarded as their SQ line, whereas the A was more of the daily street beater.

Unfortunately I never was able to install the 12o before I traded it for a PPI amp, but the build on it was very nice. If the price is right, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, but like mentioned earlier 125 is kinda high for a 4-5 year old driver.
