What do you guys make of this? -Ebay Auction Advise-

Its the auctioner's choice to set if it shows the name of the bidder, I guess it makes the bidder feel safer for really expensive items that their U/N isnt shown.
That makes sense...

Cool, guess I'll keep watching a cross my fingers that I win this bish...

Ive seen somewhere they show names and some dont, I think maybe higher priced items dont show the name or something. And that seller is less than an hour away from me which means nothing.............

Apparently not anymore ~

To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails (such as fake second chance offers), eBay has changed how bid history information is displayed. If you place a bid on a higher-priced item, only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID in the bid history. Other members can no longer view User IDs and will see anonymous names, such as Bidder 1.
The reason, I would imagine, that it isn't applicable as of yet to every single listing on eBay is that it was enacted while there were already several hundred thousand listings active and rather than retroactively changing the bid histories on every listing currently active the changes only affect listings created/posted after the changes were made.

I would wager that by next week every listing on eBay that meets whatever the specific "higher-priced item" criteria is will be this way once the ones posted prior to the changes going into effect are over.

cool, thanks prowler for clearing that up...
Good to know for other buyers as well.
You're welcome, though I don't understand why I'm apparently the only one who saw it?

When you click on the bid history link and are taken to the appropriate page the informational bit that I've quoted above was placed very prominently at the top of the page where it was pretty difficult to miss //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i'm 99% sure i'm going to get a monster 1000 s2r. after reading it seems more civil in town than a s4r. i wouldn't mind saving some cash too

wheeeeeen?
what do you think about the monsters? i think i could do alot worse.
The monsters are sick. Got to ride one down in miami. Its not my cup of tea but its a sweet bike.

I will drop the ball that the new bike is Italian...

The Bidder 3 outbidding himself may have been a fluke with the system. If someone has a set max price on their bid, and same for the other bidders, ebay will automatically bid it. Within seconds.

Late, I know. Just something I thought of.
