what do u guys think of this car

yea thats what i think ,i want to get a truck but its starting to get me all mad not having a car or truck. i really almost bought a 350z i was gona have my mom co sign then i was gona buy it out right when i get my money from the accident.

That Honda is a much smarter choice provided the miles aren't to the moon and back.

Don't like the AM lights and rims or the fact that it was freshly cleaned up, I bet it wasn't owned by an old grey hair that drove it to church on Sunday. I prefer to see them dirty.

Too much for the year and model. My neighbor sold his daughter's 99 M3 with 100k on it for 6 or 7k. It's definitely a nice car, but I'd look into a later year in that model as those were the early versions. If you can get the vehicle for half the price, then I'd say it's probably worth it. However, Euro cars are known to have lots of issues once reaching higher mileage and are costly to fix, both labor and parts.

As for the Accord, I'd ditch the rims. And be ready for a new transmission. I'm not sure if the 99's had any issues, but I know the '00 and '01's had ****** problems, some going out as early as 80k miles. My 6th gen's ****** went out at 90k. I got a new ****** and installation for 1k. That is a good price, but it depends on mileage and condition. Insurance gave me 9.5k for my '01 sedan with 99k miles when my car was totalled.

A lil more input on the Accord as I owned one, gas mileage is not all that super, sure it's good but I was seeing around 24 mpg, mainly highways. Driving like a granny I'd see 26mpg and driving like an ***, about 20 mpg and getting 300 miles for the tank. IIRC, it's got a 17 gallon tank and you can get 400 miles out of it, I've done it several times.

I'd replace the lights. I had them on and didn't realize how rice they were till afterwards. If you want OEM's, I still have mine. I'd replace the spark plug wires as well, those orange ones are quite ugly.

Installation audiowise is simple, especially the head unit. Speakers, you'll a little more than 2.54" for mounting depth with 1/2" baffles, and you can't do 3/4" because it will make the door panel stick out, unless you want to cut the door like I did...was just a tad.

Also, I'd lose the intake...sounds nice, especially when the "VTAKKK" kicks in, but you're losing power. I know a guy who worked at a shop and dyno'd all sorts of intakes for these Accords and they all showed a loss. The airbox on them has a bunch of rivets which have some sort of purpose but I can't remember exactly what the guy had told me. I didn't really notice much of a loss, nor did I notice a gain with my CAI.

I must say though, when I got my Megan Racing coilovers, the ride was a beauty and it handled MUCH better.

We have owned two BMW's. Both were purchased pre-owned from the dealer. A 540i Sport and an M6, which I still have. I would not buy a BMW with that many miles unless I had complete owner history and complete service history and a Car Fax. Many potential repair issues that could quickly put you in the hole. Yes, they are great cars, my M6 was my daily driver for about 3-4 years, never had any issues. It had 77,000 miles when I bought it in 1993 from the local BMW dealer. It was a Certified Pre Owned Vehicle, it only had one owner who traded it in. I had complete service history on it.

3 Series cars are driven very hard by many owners. It is a cheap price but you don't want to buy a buncha service issues, so have it inspected by a BMW service person somewhere before you buy or have a written contract that states you are buying on condition that it passes inspection by a service technician.

I suggest you go Japanese. I have owned three Z cars, all driven VERY hard and all were very reliable. The 89 Z31 I had was an automatic and it had 189,000 miles when I sold it and it was still going strong, not burning any oil.

i think in all honesty you should be looking at what you can really afford and not base your decision off of the insurance check. you end up with a car you can't afford to fix after you blow all that insurance money then you're right back in the same situation.

I disagree, from my experience (my dad owns a 2002 BMW 525i and my mom owns a 1990 535i) the European cars will run a lot longer then most domestic cars around. Although I agree, parts are through the roof when something goes out but I wouldnt say a BMW will break more often then any other car (if you treat it right) Just my .02.

don't even bother with the BMW as you won't be able to afford the repairs right now. Just buy a beater car for now and if you end up getting money down the road then get something nice.

looks to me like a car they dont havethe price is way to good for what it is and has

just look at the plate on the front

are we still in the US?
Uhm, you can get euro plates pretty easily in the states.

I used to sell them over the counter at a vw shop i used to work at.

If maintained properly, like any car they will last, but I know of several people who own auto shops and all of them will vouch that japanese cars will last longer. Now, if you can find an old Benz with a turbo diesel, those cars are built solid, just as long as it doesnt have any issues. That engine will last a long time as well.
