i was tuning everything yesterday and, i tuned the speakers. then i was turning up the gain on the sub and, my speakers strarting distoring horribly. im running two amps. a kicker zx750.1 and, a zx200.4. my electrical system is all stock. should i get two yellow tops or, what?

4's. i asked my electrical school teacher and, he said thats plenty. i go to electrical school to become an electrician incase your wondering.

4 awg running back to a distro block then 4 awg running to the sub amp and, 8 awg to the speaker amp.

You siad you were turning up the gains? You probably just clipped the amp. Turn the gain back down.
i think he was turning up the sub amp and the speakers started distorting, suggesting that power to the 2nd amp is not sufficient. power or ground would be my guess

i was readjusting everything. the speakers started distoring. all my wiring are good. i have a stock electrical system. my sub amp is rated at 930wrms and the speaker is rated 230wrms.

When he turns the sub gain up the speakers (not the sub woofers) start to distort. the speakers are untouched in this process and play clear as day when sub amp gain is turned down.

How do you have everything grounded? It's still possible that you are clipping the sub amps causing it to pull excessive current and starving the speaker amp. Leaving the speaker amp running full tilt while you are adjusting the gain on the sub amp isn't exactly the best idea either. You might also consider running a dedicated 4 or 8 ga power wire for the speaker amp. It will keep the sub amp from current starving it.

i took a dremel and grinded down to bare *** metal. im thinking about finding a spot to drill all the way through the floor and throw a nut with some loctite on the bottom then tighten the shit out the bolt on top. this has been a problem since day one with this set up and, ive changed and, moved things around quite a bit.

how would running an 8 gauge from the battery to the speaker amp help at all? shouldnt i be fine with a distro block? i just have a regular battery and wiring system. whats your opinion on a nice yellow top?
