What do i need to get this to work? sum switch???

Im driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla, this is the wiring

Radio 12v blue/white + radio harness

Radio Ground brown - radio harness

Radio Ignition gray + radio harness

Radio Illumination green + radio harness

I plan on using the 12v Blue/White wire and splicing it to send a remote signal to my amp to turn on, only problem with that is it will never turn off, so I heard about a switch that you can use to turn it off after your done driving or whenever you get out of your car, only problem is I dont have a clue on what type of switch thing to buy

please tell me what kind of switch can i use to manually turn it off/on everytime i get in the car?

I've tried using other wires i just dont get a signal, im also using a line out converter on one rear 6x9 because i dont have audio outputs on my factory HU

Basically just a simple toggle switch will allow you to do this. Go by Autozone or somewhere similar I think they are like 5 bucks, and the instructions are easy. Very simple to do. That or tap into the grey wire instead, it should be switched power coming off of that.

There are tons of switches to choose from, rocker, toggle, push button... I ended up buying one from Autozone that had an colored LED that matched the guages of my truck.

I normally use it for security though... Whenever I go to the mall or the movies, I simply flip the switch, it shuts down the amp, and I don't announce to the world that I've got bass...

why wouldn't you just use the "ignition gray" wire??

yo the gray wire didnt work i dont know why, i cant get my amp to turn on at all

Have you tried to turn the amp on by just putting a jumper between the + terminal on the amp and the remote turn on terminal. If the amp didn't turn on with the remote lead run to the ignition wire, the amp could be bad.

You should get a cheap multimeter and see if that grey wire has power. You may have blown a fuse by accident, on that wire.
