I got a redtop in the front and I got a mean green alt. I want a nother battery in the back but don't know which battery I should go with. I was looking at the powermasters. and how will I hook this up I understand the ground but do I need to run another run of 0 guage from the front or can I get a terminal for the powermaster and split it off

Why not buy a better battery for the front? Are you having voltage issues? Is this why you want a 2nd battery? Seeing as Red Tops aren't really designed for car audio systems you might be better off with something from Kinetik, Powermaster, Odyssey/Stinger, just buy the largest one you can fit under the hood.

sell the red top and get 2 big batteries like kinetiks or if you like optima a couple blue tops.If you keep the batts the same you can get the most life out of them with no isolator. I am trying to do that myself 3 matching blue tops is my plan

Does any one else read guage and hear it in their head misspelled? if I see gauge I read it right but whenever I see guage it throws me off

say I decide to keep the redtop and I get a kinetic battery for the back, how do I wire up the kinetic, like do I need to buy another 25 feet of 0 guage and run it to the redtop, or is there a easyer way?

research it. there are wiring configurations for batteries... but to have a good power source i recommned running another run of 0 gauge. so you should have 2 0 gauge power wires going to your back battery directly from your optima. then get 2 grounds to that back battery from anywhere. chasis or front battery... then from there wire it to your amp.. btw. keep your wires as short as possible to stop the resistance. your power will run more smoothly through your wires and will actually give you a noticeable amount of power..

The easiest way for you to do it is to run 0/1 ga from your Optima's (+) terminal to the (+) terminal of your Kinetik. Make sure you fuse both ends of this 0/1 wire. The instructions that come with your Kinetik will have wiring diagrams with it. Make sure your Big 3 is done, and for the ground you can get away with running a single ground from your rear battery to the chassis. Running a ground from the rear battery to the front one would be best, but you probably won't notice the difference when your driving around.

This^^^^

Also nothing wrong with a redtop up front. Is an awesome starter battery and I have run a retop with 3 yellow tops in the trunk in a cutty and had awesome results.

My current install is redtop up front and Powermaster5100 in trunk..........have yet to install them though.

A lot of people use a Redtop, I guess cause it's a little cheaper than a Yellow Top. I was talking to someone at Optima about their batteries and they don't recommend using a Redtop in a vehicle with larger aftermarket high current systems. The Redtop is designed as a starting battery to be used in race cars and similar applications. The Yellow Top is designed to discharge and recharge faster and more times than the Red top was designed for. They designed the Yellow Top for vehicles with higher current demands of aftermarket stereo systems and entertainment systems, unlike the Red Top which was designed for powerful starts in race vehicles. It's not like you can't use them, cause a lot of people do. It's just they aren't the best option for a bigger stereo system. This isn't just my opinion, this is what the makers of Optima Batteries will tell you, just as they have told me.

Well I guess I would have had better results in my cutty if I ran another battery then huh?

I didn't have an isolator either and ran perfectly fine for quite sometime till my shit was stolen.

I see nothing wrong with redtops...........granted that was my cutty and hoping for good results in this install.
