Subwoofer periodically makes thumping noise

Guys,

I recently did an install with 4 15's that has an amplifier on each 15. The owner has begun to notice a thumping noise coming from only 1 sub that has gotten worse and worse as time passes on. Everything I have read thus far tells me that I need to be checking the ground on the amp for this sub, but I am just wondering why the others are not doing the same thing with all batteries in parallel. Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

all subs make thumpin noises? the other 3 must be defective

probably a rca or cracked solder joints on the amp board
