OK, 4 questions for you crazy professionals:

1) Which amplifier should i get for a pair of Alpine 12" Type R's?

Specs can be found at http://www.alpine-usa.com/

2) Also, there are 2 types of Alpine 12" Type R's, which is better, the SWR-1222D or the SWR-1242D

Click This link for the SWR-1222D:

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=SWR-1222D&p_category=70&p_subcategory=150&p_main=10

And Click this link for the SWR-1242D

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=SWR-1242D&p_category=70&p_subcategory=150&p_main=10

3) Also, I would prefer an Alpine Amp (so the system matches) and if any of you know how the BEST way to wire this would be, i'd appreciate that info as well. I have never worked with dual voice coil, only single.

4) And lastly, what kind of box would be best suited for these? (There going in a 2002 Mits Eclipse RS's Trunk)

Bump, and i have a question (and please correct me if im wrong, im new to the world of car audio)

The MDR-M1005 is a 1000Wx1 amp right? at 2 Ohms?

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=MRD-M1005&p_category=40&p_subcategory=140&p_main=10

SO, if i put ONE of them to a PAIR of the Alpine 12" Type R's SWR-1222D It would only power each to 500W right? and they'd be both at 2Ohms stable? they RMS at 500W, can't i put a little more power to them? their max is 1500W...

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=SWR-1222D&p_category=70&p_subcategory=150&p_main=10

sorry guys, i have no idea what your talking about, what would that power my subs to? (Alpine TypeR 2 or 4 Ohms there are 2 types). By the way denim awesome dog, is that a schnauzzer?

In a parallel circuit, all loads see the same wattage, so both subs see the same wattage, it is not divided, or "used up" by the subs. The downside to all the loads seeing the same voltage/wattage is the reduced resistance in the circuit (2ohms or 1ohm instead of 4 ohm or 8ohm) In a series circuit wattage is divided in the circuit by the resistance of the loads in the circuit. This is also known as voltage drop. Hope that helps
