I did use WINISD like the rest of you. EBP is 39 which points to sealed enclosures, but when I tried to get an optimal qtc of .71 it told me I need 20 cubic feet which is as big as my trunk. lolTry using WINISD like the rest of us.
Exact what I was thinking. I'm gonna tune between 35 and 40.it graphs like a "daily" SPL woofer if you put it into a typical CA fartbox tuned near 40... It doesn't lend itself to sealed boxes due in a car due to the sheer size required for a good q as you mentioned. Is it some sort of Digital designs, or AQ style woofer?
edit: about 4-5 of them IB, if you vented the trunk or back of the vehicle to make it actually infinite, woudl do alright lol.

The High Qts causes the optimum Qtc to require a huge box, that Qts is insane, lol.I did use WINISD like the rest of you. EBP is 39 which points to sealed enclosures, but when I tried to get an optimal qtc of .71 it told me I need 20 cubic feet which is as big as my trunk. lol
He was counting on the woofer sounding good and after he ran the specs his heart sank, lol. Whats not to get upset over, lol. The Qts should lower after some break-in as should the Qes and Fs, the Vas will climb, the slope will be prettier and the box will not need to be as large, lol. That thing specs like an old Pyle or Pyramid, lol. If the Fs doesnt hit 30Hz throw that thing away, lol. This dude's just salty about somethin....
lol they model just fine if DD would give actual T/S parameters. This allows them to keep people in the dark and basically charge whatever they want to kids who don't know any better. Yes, they get loud, yes they are hard to break, I'll give them that, and for many, frankly that is enough. Anyway to say you can't model them is still crap, even with their fake T/S parameters (unless these were measured, WT3 is pretty cheap right now on partsexpress lol) I still figured it out in a few seconds. Tune mid 30's you get a huge freaking hump from 30-50ish which in a car gives you lots of "boom" and good numbers. Then throw a uber still suspension on it so kids can't break it even when they have no idea how to set an amp up properly, your good to go.
All cars have different amounts of cabin gain at various frequenies not having T/S parameters gives you no idea what a sub will sound like without actually putting it in, nor does it give you idea what kind of trade-offs your making with the space available. The only thing DD can promise about their enclosure is that impedence and excursion will stay in check enough that you can't break anything easily and it should get loud, albeit with terrible and unpredictable response from car to car.
This, lol.The High Qts causes the optimum Qtc to require a huge box, that Qts is insane, lol.
