weird sub noise

The set up is a jl 500/4 to a kicker solo baric l5 10 in a sealed box.

Power and remote are one one side

rcas on the other side of the car.

When the car is not on but the ignition is turned to power it and nothing is playing the sub is making a sound close to what the noise coming out of a vent of the ac is.

Suggestions?

It makes the noise with the rcas unplugged as well. Is it something wrong with the amp??

The gain is set too high?

Gain is set just under what JL's recomended wattage is. completly moved the ground and used the JL ground lug as well. Still have the sound

u say even when ur rca's are unplugged it does it..bad ground, or sumtins up wit the amp

i have had a similar problem with mine actually its the same problem and i tried getting new RCA's changing ground all over the dang car checkin my HU if anything is wrong and still my sub just makes that weird noise so i just gave up and took off my entire system im gonna try to rewire the whole thing see if that helps heres what my sub does check out the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5JFBaNzS-Y

I've seen that video before. Are you the person that took the ground wire and wrapped it around the trunk latch and taped it, for your amp's ground?

lol it WAS me and no my ground is not there anymore after that i grounded my cable to the chasis of the car and bolted it and i got the same results so its not your ground i can assure you that becuase i even tried getting ground directly from the battery and other places on the car and i would get ground but i would still get that noise

yea im pretty sure its not the ground...even took a dremel with a wire brush and got rid of a 4 in round section of paint to make sure it was def contacting the chasis of the car. Im just as stumpted still

my sub doesnt do like the youtube vid...its just a very low wind like sound that can you can only audibly hear with the car off. It still does it with the car on but you cant hear it...only feal it in the sub still.
