ok my girllfriend started up her 96 mitsubishi diamante wich is in pretty bad shape as it is, we're young so we dont get our say in vehicles yet, w/e is free is good....anyways she started it, it started fine then some weird white smoke started coming in from under the glove box area...now i was thinkin that was where the starter was(i wasnt with her when it happened) but as soon as i opened the doors a little later i could tell the smell was electrical, and now the car wont start....anybody have an idea of what we should start lookin for...i know were gna have a mechanic take a look i'd just kinda like to know what it could be so we can start thinkin about how much its gna cost.

thats magic start dust being burned to give you car a 2347856923psi boost. And if thats not it then iono sorry for wasting your time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Could be the starter though. Though what kind of electrical fault would killa starter? Unless you ahd a remote starter installed tehre earlier

i work at a smog shop. an 84 f150 came in yesterday and after we smogged their car, it wouldn't start. the cable that goes from the positive post to the starter relay was corroded, therefore a lot of resistance was going on in the wire. the cables insulation melted and it wouldnt let the car start. checc for corrosion and bad grounds.

uhoh, can be your main ecu is fried. Usually the main ecu is on the passenger side kick panel. Might of had a short in some wires which caused the main ecu to burn out. Does the car even turn over? Gauges and lights work?
