Weird situation with playing music at high volumes.....

Never experienced this in all the years I have been in audio and I am at a loss here as to what may be the cause except maybe the RCA wires being to close together?

My issue. When I play it quite loud with windows up it is crystal clear, mids/tweets/bass, sounds amazing, actually one of the best sounding systems I have had.

Now when I roll my windows down it becomes distorted and sounds like it is coming from my mids/tweets, but hard to tell. I moved around the RCA's further apart in the back, but they are next to each other on one side of the car. Usually putting those next to power wire is what causes interference no? Anyway tried it, still did it. Adjusted some stuff, still did it.....

How I got rid of it...I shut deck down completely, rolled windows down, shut car off....turned back on car, then deck and slowly turned up to where I jam on it and....crystal clear! Rolled up windows, still clear.

I am baffled why it was crystal clear with windows up, but not so when I put on the bass? Also to note, I did the rolling up and down and turned it up without bass and clear, with bass on distorted! Like WTF! Had this system in about 3 weeks now and just started doing this.

Anyone have any idea as to what may cause this?

FYI , if you are good on electrical , but your amps are all grounded to the body , that could be the issue. the sheetmetal or chassis where you are grounding from may not be thick enough to deliver the proper current that you need when the bass is kicking.

All of a sudden though and off 600rms, which is my bass amp and highs amp is 100x2....

I cant see it being that being it is clear when windows are up and when I shut deck down, rolled windows down it was clear. Not to mention, there is no way it is my ground, been there in 2 other installs and is solid as a rock. I checked it before I put this one in.

I had much stronger systems in there and it didn't do this. Would make sense if it didn't clear up when I shut deck/car off with windows down.

Just went back out there and has something to do with my windows. If I roll them down it does it, up it dont matter, but if I keep messing with rolling up and down I can catch it to where it dont do it.....short somewhere?

I wont be able to get to it till friday. Will take the panels off....again, lol! So weird....

Crossovers are in door to note. Maybe getting moisture in there? Every system I have had, has had them how they are now...hummm

Did you tuck the wires good? could have gotten into the window track and chaffed some.
I had the same thought - I'd try taking speaker out of door, play it in your lap, roll down windows... if you put it back and it goes crazy then could have something to do with speaker/glass interaction.

Does it happen on all/both doors?

Possible, I did have some excess wire in there that may have got caught as I was in a hurry.

Yes it does happen in both doors, sounds like it is coming from both tweets and mids....like I said if I turn off my bass amp via deck it dont do it windows up or down, just when I use my bass amp....lol!

Crazy, I know...pisses me off as I just got it to sound awesome! Its always something!
