Stretching and cardio is good to do before and after weight lifting. I find that it helps get the blood flowing and Im able to get a more effecient work out. It also helps with the soreness afterwards. Though you cant get rid of the soreness all together. That can only be done by working out more often. This is because the soreness is your muscles ripping, tearing, and rebuilding. In another words, just keep working out. And dont be afraid to go to the gym. Gym's were made for people like my fatass so I can lose weight. No point in not using it, especially if you've paid all that money for it. And on gym preference, Ive found that the YMCA has the friendliest atmosphere and a lot of the trainers there will help you out for free and give you work out advice in their spare time. Im not sure if you actually have to pay them for their services or not though.
