was this an upgrade at all?

i got a new HU, its a Pioneer Premier 390MP (the lowest in the premier series) i upgraded from a walmart Dual HU. the one with the flip down face. the sound quality has dramaticly improved, and this new HU has alot more to offer in the EQ areas. but from your experience do u think it was a decent upgrade? im going to upgrade again soon in a month or so probly to a 6800MP and ill be fine with that for a long time. but till then would you suggest using the 390MP or my Dual?
