I have a jl w7 13.5 w a jl1000/1 mono running it now after upgrading electrical to even get amp to work now it's getting hot and throwing thermal light plus when I first turn up volume depending on the type of bass it will pop low ohm light but then works fine. Any suggestions plz plz

Amps going out. They need power and if you run them hard on low voltage they wear out. You do have the sub wired at 3 ohm right?

Yes it's at 3 and also have learned to pay for the brand name wires also cause w cheap **** the four is about 8 w the ret being the plastic coating...I was suggested by a friend to send it to jl audio and for a few bills they pretty much just replace the guts and send it back a new amp ....havnt checked into it yet time is always against me lol

There are better wires than brand name. Shok, knuconceptz, sky high. Their 4 is close to brand names 1/0.

How is your gain set? Any bass boost. Do I have everything maxed out? Or is it set properly?
