Was it wired wrong... or...

Ok this local shop is hooking me up with so much **** its not even funny...

But... When they wired my 2 1250.1 kickers the first time... they put in basicly a RELAY network...

3 different relays... basicly having it so when I flick this switch to ON... it will turn BOTH amps on at the same time.... and I will use that for comps....

NOW... when they wired it up (which the guy said he has been doing for years and they told me to flick it to the ON position... on of the amps went UP in smoke... and the other one was working fine...

They said the reason for this was because since the car was already on... and we switched it on... the other amps OHM load wasnt well... basicly READY for it... since the other amp had already been on...

they said if we had turned the car off... and THEN swiitched it to ON both amps would of came on at the SAME time... and would of been ready for it...

Now if you have relay experince... does this sound right?

Why the fook would they run the sub wires through a relay? That doesn't sound right at all. The remote wire should be the only thing running through the relay, unless they were trying to rig up some kind of burp button.

Did they tell you that the amp blowing right away would be a risk before they even started? If not, the should give you some compensation for it.

oh dont worry about that... even tho my SECOND amp didnt even get hurt... they ordered me 2 brand new ones... one to replace the blown one... and the other to put tin the spot of the working one (Just in case;))

That's awesome. Want to give me the origional working one?

I think with the way I think you have it set up, I am confused.

Basically you have this:

switch to switch between one amp powering it or two amps strapped powering it. When the switch is flicked, the second amp turns on the 'single amp' circuit for the sub is broken and strapped circuit engaged.

I would say next time, turn the car off first.

i say fuk the relay they should just have both amps powering the subs strapped at all times theres really no need for a switch

i wouldn't trust their wiring anymore i would go somewhere else or do it myself

if you want it done correctly DIY

^ I actually like the idea of the relay to what, tripple the power for comps? I think what you need to have them do is this:

Wire the switch to kill the remote line to sub one, then initiate both remote lines at the same time AND modify whatever they have set up to switch between 'one amp power mode' and strap mode. That way you wouldn't have to turn the car off, just flick ONE switch and you will go from one amp to two strapped and don't have to worry about anything.

In order to strap a this amp to .5 ohm loads each... the positive and negitive of the sub connect up one amp and the other.... so you the only way to do it is to have them on AT ALL times... (which I dont wana do.... the amps ARENT ment to do it) or use the switch.... but I have to turn the car off FIRST this time... (which we figured out)

enabled, not enablef^

something like that. I'm not sure how you have the amps strapped together.
